BlueBARGE and EOPSA Co-Host First Technical Workshop

On 22 May 2025, the BlueBARGE project and EOPSA co-organised the first Members-Only technical Workshop to explore key challenges and opportunities in offshore power supply.

On 22 May 2025, the BlueBARGE project, in collaboration with the European Offshore Power Supply Association (EOPSA), co-organised the first MembersOnly technical Workshop. The event addressed the pressing technological, infrastructural, and regulatory challenges in the offshore power supply sector, helping project partners in understanding crucial trends and possibilities for advancing maritime decarbonization. Exclusively open to EOPSA members to foster technical interaction and insights collection, the workshop emphasized the need for aligned regulation, equitable funding mechanisms, and viable implementation pathways for offshore electricity provision.

The BlueBARGE consortium—represented by partners from ABS, the National Technical University of Athens (NTUA), and Magellan Circle—presented the project’s offshore power supply concept, focusing on design flexibility, energy scenarios, and use cases supporting both offshore and onshore applications. Speakers included:

  • Konstantinos Voutzoulidis (ABS, BlueBARGE Project Coordinator)
  • Roland Texeira (President, EOPSA)
  • Marios Koimtzoglou & Nikolaos P. Ventikos (NTUA)

Moderator: Reza Karimpour (Magellan Circle)

The event concluded with a participatory discussion and engagement survey, offering valuable input from EOPSA members to guide the further development of the BlueBARGE solution in line with real industry needs.
