The BlueBARGE Project marked a major milestone with its third General Assembly, held on July 1–2 in Istanbul, Turkiye. The event was graciously hosted by project partner Elkon, welcoming representatives from all consortium partners, both onsite and remotely.
The two-day gathering provided a critical opportunity for partners to exchange updates, align on technical progress, and plan the next steps as the project reaches its midway point. The session was opened by project coordinators Katerina Vasileiadou and Konstantinos Voutzoulidis, who highlighted key achievements and emphasized the importance of the work ahead in the second half of the project.
A standout moment of the Assembly was the guided tour of Elkon’s facilities, where participants viewed the first physical prototype of the BlueBARGE battery system. This breakthrough marks a tangible step forward in the development of mobile, barge-based shore-side power solutions for European ports.
With 18 months remaining, partners are energized to accelerate progress and bring BlueBARGE closer to market implementation.
